Default Starting New Engine

We have not been able to get the new engine to start and run. It keeps going into lock mode and we have to disconnect the battery and start again. I did manage to connect to the PCM but got no codes. The engine will start and quit like a security relearn is needed but the security light is not flashing and the PCM has not been changed. The friend, who is a mechanic, did the install but is not strong on solving these kinds of issues. I was wondering what the problem might be and how to tackle this issue. One thing is that he has his large battery charger attached to keep the battery up and I am wondering if that might be interfering with the process. If anyone has any incite to this problem or advice I would be grateful.

We do have fuel pressure and I assume spark (but will need to confirm) from the way it runs for a couple of seconds.

Then he gets the flue so it is held up till tomorrow.

Thanks guys

I dont know how HPT is, but in EFILive you can turn the VATS system off, I woudl try that just to rule it out. Also you might try posting this in the general section since it could be something un-related to tuning and also gets more traffic.

Thanks guys. I have Tunercat so I will look to see if I can turn VATS off.

I see it has a Switch called,[ ] VATS Fail-Enabled Option [X=Enabled] and it does not have an X so it is disabled. Looks like the VATS is already turned off. Is that how you read it?

I will try a security relearn again but maybe I should enable VATS again? It is a little hard when the security light does not flash and there is no indication if anything is happening.

I will try the general section too, Thanks slow!

x = enabled and no x i would say its disabled, what condition is the injectors? have they been sitting for a long time, just a thought might wanna check and make sure they are all clean but it does sound like it needs a relearn

The truck has only been down for a 4 days to do the swap so it has not been sitting for too long. It seems strange **** always happens when things are taken apart and seemingly but back together again correctly.
