Default SUDDEN HIGH RPM'S!!!! Need suggestions please

Ever since I bought my truck its ran like a champ Ive loved the 4.10 gears, ran a 14.7 at the track with it, I couldnt be more pleased with it. Usually I would be at 2K rpm's at 70 mph now im at 2K rpm at 40-50mph. I dont understand it. I havent done anything different to the truck. It shifts into all 4 gears. My gas mileage is terrible now and I have a huge loss in power and my speedometer doesnt work. Is it possible for the computer to loose its tune and its acting goofy because it doesnt realize it has the 4.10 gears. I DID take the battery out multiple times to put in my camaro and drive it, but that shouldnt be a big problem. I put a new speed sensor in this past weekend and that didnt do anything. I can't think of anything else to do.

Any help would be awesome, Thank You.

You don't have to post it in 3 different sections. That's just annoying and makes it hard to keep track of reply's.

If the computer LOSES a tune that means it just went out and won't work. Truck won't start if that were the case and you'd need a new pcm.
Possible the Torque converter is staying unlocked or you possibly have a bad O2 Sensor? Does it run fine at WOT but like **** when driving normal?

the CEL has been going on and off for the past couple months because of an exhaust leak n its a low voltage O2 sensor code but this high rpm stuff just started and and the CEL isnt on at the moment but that was gonna be my next replacement maybe. how much do they run for these trucks, its a 5.3l motor.

Is it just staying at 2k and you don't have throttle control?

Which 02 sensor? Bank 1 is left Bank 2 is right, Sensor 1 is front, Sensor 2 is rear.

Sensors 2 on either bank only monitor the cats. If you no longer have cats then they need shut off or they'll trigger the CEL. If it's sensor 1 then you need to get it replaced or custom tuned and shut off. BOSCH is about 50 bucks last i checked and anything better is normally 100 or so.

I'm guessing this problem is on your 2004(going by the 4.10's listed in your sig).......

If you have misfire codes(several other codes may cause this also), the torque converter will not lock up. The pcm won't allow it.

Diagnose and repair the check engine light.

OR:

maybe you hurt the transmission, and it's slipping. You wouldn't be the first person to smoke the 3-4 clutch pack.

its just weird though, everything seems normal it shifts into all 4 gears. I never thought about the torque converter i thought when thats goin bad you mos def. know it. like a loud clunking or slippage
