TBSS intake 90mm TB tuning on 2003 Silverado
Anyone have any good info on the proper tuning for this setup?
I thought I had it working pretty well till I went to the track and got code P1516 causing Reduced Engine Power on the first 3 runs. Then when I finally got it to go all the way down the track without shutting down my times were about 4 tenths slower than before the intake went on. 14.98 as compared to a best of 14.63 last year before the TBSS intake.
Something isn't right and I think I need help to figure this one out.

Well after some additional testing changing the ETC Area Scalar it makes no difference with the P1516 code. I'm starting to think that my alternator problem (shutting off over 4500 rpm) is causing this or I actually have a bad TPS.
The only way I have been able to duplicate the problem is on long WOT runs from low speeds. Say I go from 30 mph and it will usually shut off between 70-80 mph. However if I go WOT at 50 or 60 it will run all the way up until I'm going way to fast out on the highway. I actually had it shut down on me so bad once that it lost connection while I was logging. After I reset the code all is fine again.
Guess I will be going to warranty out the POS Autozone 145 amp alternator and see if that helps.

Thanks DrX. I will use the .0170 and track down the problem with the alternator.
I was originally using a smaller number than stock and it doesn't seem to matter what the scalar is set at with regards to my issue. Good to know what the correct number to use is!

I believe it is the truck/TBSS style. I got it with the intake all as a package. I replaced the alternator tonight and so far it appears to have fixed the voltage problem I was having. No more voltage drop over 4500 rpm now.
I don't know if the P1516 is fixed for sure or not yet, but so far so good. I made a few WOT runs without issue but only one real good long run from low speed up to about 80 mph. I'll have to do some additional testing out on the Turnpike where I don't have to worry about getting a speeding ticket as much.
If it acts up again I will start looking for a car TB thanks for the info Truckshop.
