yes. that image will help. could not get to the shop today..will continue chasing gremlins tomorrow after work.
Grant, thanks again for the exchange and your help on this.
yes, i moved that ground to the lug in another gremlin hunt..(turned out to be a bad tune....courtesy Doug at DTS...bad news there.) I was checking that ground for MAF and 02 sensor code issues...ended up breaking it off while trying to ensure it was good and soldering an extension on so it would reach that firewall lug. My issues were not from the ground, but rather my tuner had foolishly turned off all O2 sensor DTCs...turned out the heaters went bad and everythign went south from there. Joe@ LeftCoast32 got the tune all straightened out after 2 days of chasing ****.
This week I will be attempting to recrimp and reattach it to its original location...kicking myself for not doing it while the tranny was out.
I made this change months before any problems surfaced.

The TAC module ground to G104 is spliced (S102) with the grounds for several other components, so an issue with one of those circuits could also cause a problem. S102 is supposed to be in the engine harness about 5 inches before the MAP sensor.

If the gound is corrupt how is the fuel pump going to turn on?
I spent a lot of time looking over the grounds until I was informed by a GM engineer that if the ground was bad at G104 the fuel pump and AC would have issues. Also he informed me that if the G104 was bad the PCM would have a No Communication DTC with the TAC module.
Nice picture

I am running a Lonnie's dual in-tank setup with hobbs switch and piggyback harness. The fuel issue I have is the fuel level sending unit...started when I put in the system. I have the updated factory connector/harness, but have not modified it to splice into the Lonnies kit.
I have been running the system fro a few thousand miles before I ran into issues with TB.
The fuel system works flawlessly otherwise.
I am using the fuel pump signal to trigger the maggie HX pump relay...been that way for years though.
Yes, some DTCs set on key-run and more set withe engine start. Will get exact codes later...at work still
