Default Torque Management

Ive been reading a lot of threads and have heard a lot of stuff about tm and how bad it is. I have a 2004 Chevy Avalanche Z-66 with a few mods and still dont feel the power increase. Ive read that tm really kills how it will perform. When i punch it at a light, nothing happens. Even with the t/c off, still no tire spin unless my tires are wet. Does anyone know of a good dyno in the dfw metroplex?

TM isn't bad, just misunderstood.

LoL, it's there to protect the weak *** trans. from breaking. Removing it will allow the engine to apply all of its power to the drivetrain unrestrained=better launch, tire spin, etc.

There is no on or off for the torque management so to say, they are a bunch of tables in the PCM that have to be zero'ed out. Actually there are quite a few tables, I am trying to remember how many...

TM has to be removed from the PCM, HPTuners, LS1edit, efilive etc. If the shop that has a dyno has tuning software as such they it shouldnt be a problem. However if you trans is all stock I wouldnt remove all of it...

get like 80-90 percent of your TM removed and also get your power enrich mode zero'ed out, it delays full power for like a second and a half from when you floor it

I dont see a problem with removing all of TM. As long as you dont rag the **** out of it from every stop light, you shouldnt have a problem.

I removed all of my torque management several months back. It really helps those launches and shifts feel better. My truck was a real dog off the line before. I personally believe in removing 100% and letting my foot control torque management. I do understand it's purpose of protectin the trans. A stock 4l60E is not the most rock solid trans in the world, but deffinately not the weakest either. All that being said a shift kit is good insurance or maybe assurance also.

I live in Allen and have HPTuners. If you want me to reduce or remove your torque management I will, PM me. I'll get into the tuning as much as you want as long as you buy the HPT credits.

I think your questions have been answered but I wanted to say welcome from another Avalanche driver.

WOW thats a shocker! What are your mods? I did the TB Bypass, cat cack, and some BBK wires and felt a big difference. The next thing I plan is to grind my TB. The Cam was a huge difference, once I did the Jessie Bubb Tune.
