Truck died and won't start...need help.
Last Friday my truck just died on me out of the blue while slowly leaving a stop light by the house, no misfire, power loss...nothing. First I thought the fuel pump was out, but we checked the pressure from the fuel rail with a gauge and I have 60 lbs. Checked spark and it has good spark...fuses look good too. It just turns over and doesn't even fire off a bit. No internal damage either.
I have had a crank relearn check engine light on for the past 3 months ever since I had a cam installed. Truck ran fine, but I just didn't have the HP Tuners to reset it so I didn't do anything about it. Could that have somehow shut down the engine all of a sudden?
Anybody come across this before or have any ideas?
Thanks

Lots of keys or other on ring swinging on the ignition key? Kill switch on a security system or other aftermarket something tied into the PCM or BCM? Do you have a handheld scanner or other that you can read any data from the ECM to get any DTC's or even verify the ECM is live? Did any work under the steering column where you could have cut of damaged the YELLOW wires? Checked all the pertinent fuses and relays?

no kill switch, no extra keys. I have access to AutoTap, but I disconnected the battery when it first happened hoping to reset something and I'm sure I deleted any codes that were given because it doens't show any...except the crank relearn that has been on for several months.
A friend said it might be a bad crank position sensor and the more I read it might just be that.

Wow! I just experienced a very similar condition – Now my truck won’t start…needless to say I’m watching this thread as I have a very similar truck to yours.
On Friday I completed the Trans and TC conversion and drove the truck approx 5 miles to warm up the trans so I could top off the trans fluid. The next day I took the truck on the freeway, at first the torque converter did not lockup, I got off the freeway and back on twice before it locked up. All seemed normal then all of a sudden the engine lost power for maybe 1 or 2 seconds then back on and normal – at the time I was using cruise control so when power came back it accelerated back to the cruise setting (leaving one with a memorable head nod when de-accelerating and then accelerating). At this point I’m 20 miles from home so I exit the freeway and when getting back on the freeway I wack the throttle hard and all’s good, 1st gear feels better than what I had with the 4L60 and all the shifts in the 4L80 feel perfect. After about 2 miles at freeway speeds (80 mph) the engine quits and won’t restart, (this became a $125 flat-bed ride home).
I spent much of today checking fuses (all good), fuel pressure (58#), all connections and grounds seem to be Ok, however no spark to the plugs. I’ll be watching this post and I will post up what I find is my problem.
My truck configuration includes; 2005 Silverado standard cab short bed, running all an new built 427” LSx with LS7 heads, Maggie TVS 2400 with 10 rib pulleys , Snow, Dynatech headers, Finishline 4L80e with Circle D TC, and a 4” Alum drive line to a Currie 9” Ford with 3:89 and TrueTrac.

can you scan....... the PCM? or see it with any diag scanner?
$125 don't feel bad I was 100 miles deep on the PA turnpike when my fuel pump went belly up they charge $4 a mile plus hook up fee and they have a lock down on the towing. I got most of it back from insurance towing feature but not all of it!!!

Well, OLD BULL and I changed the crankshaft position sensor tonight and nothing...didn't do anything. We are stumped. We actually pulled a spark plug wire off and tried starting it and it fired off for a second like it wanted to start, but that was it. Put the plug wire back on and turned over the motor and hit like it wanted to start again but then nothing. We are getting spark and have good fuel pressure at the fuel rail, but it is almost like the injectors are not working. How could all 8 injectors go out at once? We also checked a spark plug and it looks good...doesn't look fouled and I would think it would be at least a little wet after trying to start it so much if it was getting fuel in the cylinder.
