Well guys i have been working long on my project truck is a 89 silverado with a ls motor, i got everything wire up computer is from a 2001 silvy 0411. The problem is that i can't make the pcm to unlock im using Hptuners software and i try how the help menu tells and the steps on the forum but nothing its still the same it cranks and turns on and dies real quick.

What is another way to unlock or how you guys have unlock it? Im using a painless harness. I want to turn it on its been sitting for a while.

No, how can i do this.

This is my first one doing it.

 

I need vats turn off since the truck is 89 i dont have a BCM.

 

on my 01, start the truck, when it shuts down leave the key in the on position, the security light will flash on the gauge cluster for approx. 10 min. when the security light goes off turn the car off for 30 seconds. then you can start the car. Not sure how it will work on your 89 though

 

Get another VIN and reflash the pcm completely.

 

Are you able to read the ecm? If so just disable the security system in the tune and just flash it back in.

 

If the pcm is locked there is nothing you can really do without the unlock code. You can ask the tuner to provide it but in most cases they will not.

 

Sounds like you need to do the VATS relearn. AndysC3 has the right idea, but I think you have to do that 3 times? Maybe I'm wrong, it did it almost 2 years ago. Do a search on here.

 

the only way to unlock it, its with the same Hp tuners interface, that was originally locked..
