Default Tune help

I had this question in the gm engine and exhaust and I didn't get answered so I guess this is a better place for it . I have a cammed 4.8 right now and will be dropping a cammed ly6 in it in a few weeks my question is will I be able to drive the cammed 6.0 on a cammed 4.8 tune? Just for 2weeks back and forth to work total of 10 mile a day and then a 60 mile drive to the Dyno tune please help with this thanks
Joe

I wouldnt chance it..not on a new engine.

its goin to be lean.. and could be lean enough to make a piston dissapear.
The PCM can make some adjustments, but thats prolly gonna be out of its realm.

I would find someone that can load up a base 6.0l tune for you until you can get it to the shop for the dyno tune. They should be able to load up something close enough to drive based on the specs of your engine and then get it dialed in on the dyno.

Call the dyno shop and see if they can send you a base tune to drive it on.

Did you change the injectors, or are they the same ones you had for the current tune? If you are going with bigger injectors, you have to have a base tune before even starting it up... If you have the injectors it was tuned with, as long as you are easy on it, it will be fine. It may not idle great and may not have great driveability, but it will be fine as long as you don't go into WOT.

Ill keep the stock 4.8 injectors that it was tuned with if they will work I'm not going to put a huge cam in it something in the low to mid 22x range if they will work ill do that I just have no way of getting a base tune unless my buddy at the Chevy dealer can flash my computer to a stock tune for it I have the vin for the truck the motor came out of in that is possible? I'm just new to this and I'm not sure what to do? I do have a hand held diablo programmer could I set it up wit that
