I don't know where that zip code is but I've been watching and looking a lot lately. I'm looking for a 98 or 99-07 red or extended cab v8 but prefer single cab. I'll find something.

If you're going to biuld a 96-99 Vortec just do a PCM swap if you can't find a 99 year model (yes there are some wiring mods, but being a thirdgen Camaro guy you should be at least aware of the Vortec van PCMs and the ability to use the TPI set up with them) but the OEM Vortec injectors are the poppet style and junk along with some other issues. You're better off with a Gen 3 engine... the trucks have much better quality out of the gate too, brakes, steering, and fit/finish.
I'll sell you either of my trucks... which one you want?

You need to look harder, I bought a high option 2003 ECSB K1500 in Atlanta in your price range for a RCSB 2 wheel drive...

Yea I know about the PCM swap etc cause I'll have to do it to the third gen when I put the new motor in. What's the other truck you got now?

why not get a 96-99 rcsb 4.3 and swap it??? would be about the same swap either way minus the cluster issues? looked at swapping a 5.3 into my 97 tahoe before i bought my 00 chevrolet rcsb z71 5.3
only gave $2800 for mine 130k miles but needed a transfer case and a bunch of nit pick stuff... until 3weeks of driving later the drivers side headgasket gave up (crappy aftermarket graphite one) now its tore down and getting done up better lol
