tuning for camshaft??
Is it possible to adjust a tune in a manner that, in effect, mellows out a camshaft?
My cam is a 224/238 on a 116 LSA; I wouldn't say its an exceptionally agressive camshaft but it has more lope day in day out then I'd like.
I would prefer this route vs. buying/installing a new camshaft.

Yes you can tune to smooth the camshaft lope out. You'd be surprised how much you can have it cleaned up. That cam with -1* overlap should sound pretty smooth tuned right.

I am working on a write up which will apply to hpt with some tweeks. In the mean time you could also adjust the idle timing. Move timing up or down 0.5* at a time and long intake vacuum. What your looking for is the higjest number. That will be you best timing at idle. Also adding 2% to the ve or maf (if applicable) in the idle cells helps smooth it out too. Richer mixture are more mellow than leaner.
