This! ^^^^^^^

Speaking of hitting a moving target which smokeshow mentioned, no matter using STFT or LTFT or even both you will always be trying to hit a moving target. With how the O2s are always switching lean to rich rich to lean trying to keep the fueling centered around Lambda 1.00 their is a "deadband" of about 3%-4% using the fuel trim method in which your VE and MAF tables for the most part won't ever get any closer than that. You might say to yourself, well shoot 3%-4% is pretty darn close but as also that's been stated you need a wideband for tuning the WOT part of tune anyways so why not just do it all in one shot and have a more accurate and precise tune all around.
