Someone with some type of tuning or scanning equipment. you need to do it for saftey, the crank sensor is what triggers the PCm for spark, and sensing missing etc. It you know someone with HPtuners, or a tech II, and I believe EFI live can all do crank relearns

When a new PCM is installed or the crank sensor is replaced, you have to have a CASE Learn done to calibrate the sensor with the PCM for that car (VIN). Any scan tool with Bi-Directional cable can perform the procedure. It takes less than 5 minutes. HPTuners, EFILive are Bi-Directional systems, the Tech II is, EASE is Bi-Directional and the rest probably are not. Auto Ingenuity may be. Most of your other scan software, like Autotap, are read only. The key is the Bi-Directional cable.

A lot of people call it different things, but its still calibrating the crank sensor.

Yea, youll be fine running it like this. you may, or may not get a SES light. It depends where you take it. I had mine done once for free, the same dude charged my bud $40 or $50, now I do it myself

So, should the crank relearn be done even if the ses light isn't thrown? I did this tune in my wife's Escalade and want to be sure. Thanks, -Parker
