Default what causes an injector to look like this?

Hunting down why my motor has now power down low still, 2 years now . I pulled my injectors to send them off for cleaning and testing. One of them has a melted tip, what would cause this?

The injectors only have 9845 miles on them.

Perhaps a valve not sealing and your getting combustion heat into the intake runner

Yep. Or you could do a compression test or leak down test on that cylinder

I have seen several LS engines in the past year that had enough carbon build up on the valves to keep the from fully closing, this is what the injectors looked like in those engines.

Motor heads and injectors have the sane amount of miles, I hope it's not building up in there that quick...
