Default What is your torque converter lock up set at during cruise?

Mine is currently at around 39-40mph and its really annoying cz most speed limits here are 40mph so it locks and unlocks constantly. What are you guys setting yours at?

45/40 but it is a little low. 50/45 would probably feel a little better. I have it setup in my tune to lock in 3rd if I hold it in 3rd on the column and I will usually hold 3rd if cruising on surface streets.

mine currently is 45/40, but i am thinking i will lower mine to 40/35.... I used to have it that low, but i raised it when i was dealing with some surging issues with my cam... I got that fixed but never lowered it back down....

It will make a difference what your final gear ratio/tire size is....with 3.73 and 30.5" tires 45mph in OD locked is very low rpm.

with 4.11s, I lock up at 38 and unlock at 35 or so. Rpms are around 1200ish sometimes

Very true, people can use this calculator to determine what there RPM will be, all you have to input is tire size, rear ratio, and tranny type (60e or 80e).

Personally i like a 5mph split between lock and unlock, that way your not always unlocking and locking the TC at low speeds...

At really light throttle around town, 26 mph. That is OD with the converter locked and about 950 rpms. Pulls right out of it like its nothing. Works great for side streets and what not. 4L80E with 3.73s and 31 inch tall tires.

My 99 with stock tuning will lock at 38 mph but I did turn the throttle stop up all the way. It had the throttle stick condition and where its at it has good response and idles right about 600 fully warmed up in park. The IAC at that point has no control but it works fine still.
