Default Whats the cheapest way to tune a turbo silverado?

Hey!

Sadly i have no experience with siverado tuning.
I wanna get a turbo on my 2002 5.3 vortec.

I dont wanna spend 1000`s of dollars.
I have a few ideas but i dont know if sombody got experience with this..
I wanna run 8-9psi of boost

-Preador tuner (stock on the sts kits), ist that enougth? I heard that its not real good...

-FMU (in corky bell`s book i have he told thats good till 9-10psi) will that work? Will it work when i would set the ignition a bit back?

-AEM FIC-8 A piggy pack for OBD 2 with full adjustable fuel and ignition, also got a boost-pick-up.

Can somebody help me?

Custom tune from one of our sponsers, Wheatley or DC_Justin (Blackbearperformance). They run about 250-350ish...

Seeing how you are in Switzerland I'd suggest purchasing the software and learning to do it yourself. You will save big $ in the end.

So a FMU will not work for 8-9 psi and 400-450hp?

well depending on the year of the truck you can use a 2 bar map with a cos and have a boost referenced table to read off of! There are many ways you can tune it but if you plan to just put a good tune in the truck and not change much i would def give blackbearperformanc(DC_Justin) or any other sponsor a call and look at your options!

A stock ECU can read boost but you need a Custom OS (to tune it properly) and a 2-bar Map sensor, the which one of the sponsors i suggested above can provide the PCM and you can buy a 2-bar Map sensor...

Justin is great, the only difficulty I see is internation shipping is a PAIN IN THE @ZZ. But Justin can send you the hardware and from then on you communicate and make adjustments via email so that really is a viable option.
