Question Wheatly VS. Nelson Custom Tune

Hello all, im a noob here. I have a 01 Silverado 5.3 with a 4L60E tranny. Only mods done are a custom ram air & 40 Flowmaster Y'd to 3" Duals. I want to loose the Torque Management & Speed Limiter. I dont pull anything with the truck so im out for a good 93 octain performance PCM. My question is...Has anyone here had a Nelson Tune? I seen many people here run the Wheatley. Pro's-Con's?? Any help will be valued...Thx

They are both excellent tuners. If you do a search on this board for 'Nelson', you'll see lot's of guys use him. Same for Wheatley.

Research both of them and use whichever one you feel more comfortable with.

Give them both a call and see who makes you feel more comfortable. I went with Nelson for the 93 tune, then went back for the turbo from him.

Who is the better tuner? You will never get a straight answer. Unless you get a PCM tuned by both of them and dyno each...

Both are very popular, have loyal customers and both are sponsors on this board.

True, but also you may end up with a truck that makes higher HP/torque but doesnt move faster. Really would need to take both of the tunes to the track and do a few runs each, and get an average of the 1/4 mile times.. sometimes the faster tune makes less power due to other factors like shift points, etc.. Its all a test and tune process if you want the fastest truck around, but you really cant go wrong with either of those guys, both are great tuners.
