Wink When Is Crank Re-Learn Needed?

Im getting ready to order a Tune from Jesse (Wait4Me) and have read on here that Crank Re-Learn is necessary?
1. Can someone shed some light on what this exactly means?
2. When is a Crank Re-Learn Necessary?
3. Why is this necessary?
4. Am I going to have to get it done if I get a new PCM from Jesse??

Thanks guys, I know someone can explain it to me.

1. The PCM needs to learn the position of the crank so that it can detect problems correctly.

2. Anytime you put in a non stock PCM.

3. See #1

4. If you have ordered a new PCM = Yes. If you had your pcm retuned = No.

I would highly suggest you get a custom dyno or street tune instead of a Mail Order!

Thanks.
Around these parts its almost impossible to find someone that does a dyno tune or a street tune. i would love to get one but for $158 i think its hard to beat jesse's tune. and i payed $260 for my hypercrapper. so if i could sell it and get jesse's i would be doin better IMO.?

Thanks for the input!!

I just did 4 computers from Jesse and none needed the relearn. They are well worth the money. It is possible and some do but not all.

I agree, there is more to be gained by doing this than a mail order tune can give ya.

With the proper tuning software or a scan tool that has the capability to do it, such as the GM TechII.
