Default Where's the PCM...........

Guys- I need help. I'm finally geting around to installing my LS1 fans, have everything hooked up, just need to know where the PCM is so I can tap into pin 42. Thanks................

there's a black cover right down and to the left of the battery. Pull the cover off and the pcm is under there

Found it- thanks. THere's 2 big plugs into it. How do I know which one is #42....................

And where do I get a good ground..........

best ground is the battery. Or any metal on the truck. It should say Red 42 or green 42. Those plugs changed colors at some point in the years.

Look on the pcm, it will be tag on each side what color it is and what pins are what.. You will need a 8mm(iirc) socket to get the plus completely out... Yes they can be a PITA sometimes

Thanks guys- it was a 7mm bolt after all that secures'em on. didn't see a label or anything. I'm gonna have something to eat now and give it a go a bit later.............

OK guys- still can't find pin#42. is is in the haynes or chiltons manual, maybe? I've attached a pic of the PCM, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place altogether...............

Scroll down towards the bottom of the link. Unfortunately, the picture that shows #42 is kinda blurry, but I know you'll need to disconnect the wiring from the PCM and attach it.

I'll be doing this mod this weekend, hopefully....

The light finally went on! when ya pry of the top cover to reveal the wires the numbers are there. Thanks for your patience everyone.........



Edi- It's pins 40 and 33 that I want to use- right..........
