Default Will this tune work to get me started?

I'm new to the tuning world. I've got EFI live ordered and will hopefully have it here in a few days. I've got a 2003 RCSB Silverado with a magnacharched LQ9/4L60. The motor is basically stock with exceptions of the cam - I226/E232 duration 111* I.603/E.609 lift It also has a 3200 stall converter. LT headers and 60lb injectors. I've got a hp tuners tune that is locked so I'll be starting with a stock computer and I need to get a tune to get me started. I found a tune on Holden Crazy: 2005 Seirra

LQ4 6.0L Swap, Radix 2.9 Pulley, GT2-3 Cam, LT Headers, 60Lb Injectors, Trailblazer Torque Converter

I know the cam is wrong for the magnacharger. I bought the truck this way. My next purchase is a GT2-3 cam. Will this tune work for me as a starting point with my current cam? Thanks in advance

Should be usable at least. You may want to back off on the timing a bit or leave it as is as long as there is no knock. The biggest things are to watch your air/fuel ratio like a hawk and make sure the truck is seeing no knock.

No expert here but the difference in size of your cam might have some idle issues??? Turning the idle rpm up a little might get you through till you swap cams.

I figured the idle would be a problem. Does it matter that the tune comes from an 05 and mine is an 03?

umm your truck has the return style fuel system and the 05 are returnless so your fulling is going to be different, there fueling is going to ramp up as yours is going to stay the same, there are other things as well, but since you bought efi I can't help you lol

Even if the vins are different efi live allows you to change vins with out changing the pcm. My tune came from allen and I had him unlock it so I could use efi live with it, but I am still very new to it. not sure about the fuel thing, Kevin knows the tunning thing much better than I.

Good point, glad you pointed that out. I'll have to do some more looking. Yeah i decided to go with efi live. I hope it wont be a mistake. C'mon Kevin a pro like you... I'm sure there are plenty of things you could teach me.

The 2003 tune is an HP tune 3 bar map no MAF and that's all I know about it. I did some reading on the EFI forum and there is a way to still use the 2005 tune. There are some fuel pump tables that have to be changed. I guess i'll worry about that when I get to that point.
