Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm such a grasshoppa.

I will play with the table some and see where it gets me.

Ok

That way when it's a bit colder out, or your driving style is different than normal and you manage to hit these cells in closed loop you won't get the knock that you would see otherwise.

Total timing ends up the same at heavy throttle while part throttle acceleration is not noticably altered and the overall number of kr spikes are reduced in most vehicles I'm working on.
So how that heck are you using the tables if according to black02ss they are turned off? am I missing something.

black02ss was referring to the lean cruise tables, not the spark correction table. GM uses the AFR correction/fuel mixture spark correction tables from the factory on truck tunes (not on LS1 tunes).

Cool

My tune is still running the stock Spark Advance Correction Vs AFR Vs RPM. It still does not account for the total spark I see at WOT. There is something else at work there as well. Check out a stock bin file to get an idea of where to start with this table.

There are a number of other modifiers as well. ECT and IAT spark correction and Burst Knock Retard (does not show up as KR) to name a few.

Cool

Thanks Justin I should look at those and figure out what is accounting for the Total timing I see. The AFR adjustment seems to be the largest factor but it would be good to understand how those tables are used together.

When I am working with timing I log lots of timing stuff. as DC_Justin mentions,IAT, ECT and always burst knock. Here is a screen shot of burst knock at work. All the timing pulls in this shot, 150 and 160KPA is burst knock. I'll start logging the AFR timing and play with it when I get to that part of my tuning.

FWIW made a custom histogram to log AFR Spark when I start playing with it.
