If anybody is wondering how much recoil reduction that Titan SJC brake is good for. I would say that in my initial testing with the 208 grain bullets the recoil level was slightly less then my Remington 700 Sendero in 25-06 shooting 100 grain Sierra Matchkings at 3200 fps. My 22" sporter barreled Rem 700 in .243 has more recoil with my HOT 100 grain deer load...

Im interested to see what kind of groups you get out of it on out further. Dpending on what happens with all this BS legislation going on in the near future Id really like to build a r700 300WM for some long range hunting. From everything Ive read it seems the 300WM is really hard to beat, especially for a reloading newb like me.

It's pretty easy to load for. All I can say is if you build a 300, get either a brake or a suppressor if the gun is gonna weigh under 11 lbs... The brake is the best investment I've ever made!

when you load for the 300wm make sure you check the case stretch right above the belt. This is where it stretches most and you can have head/case separation then it is a pain in the rump getting the case unstuck. Most everything else on the 300wm is fairly simple.

A good trick for getting separated cases out is carry a .410 or 20 gauge copper brush and a piece of cleaning rod with the T handle. If you open the bolt and pull the case head off, you can push the brush up threw the back side of the case and give it a couple good hard twists. that will form the bristles up good an tight on the barrel side of the case mouth and when you pull it out the case will come right out with it. Never failed me yet. I carry a .410 for .224-.257 and a 20 gauge for .308 up.

My Uncle has a .338 Lapua in an AR30. It has such an efficient brake that it isn't much worse then my sporter contour 30-06 deer rifle. He has a Vulcon 50 BMG too and that thing is a RIOT! I have another buddy with one that was messing around loading 300-350 grain pistol bullets, to the tune of about 4500 FPS. If they held together, they were all over the place past 100 yards. But the Woodchuck that disintegrated at 50 left a cone shaped blood splat for about another 40 yards behind it... That was pretty sweet!
