Hey, I ve got one of those too only with a stainless barrel with black flutes, well two actually. Awesome shooting gun, and will reach out and touch anything you want in a hurry. Got bored a couple hunting trips ago to the big woods and cranked off a few rounds across the canyon and at a 1000yds it only seemed to drop about 3'. Close enough that you could kill an animal with it.
What kind of optics are you going with?

Just wish they werent so expensive. Kinda sad to think you can have basically 3K into a rifle that doesnt have a single custom piece on it
Wish bausch and lamb still made scopes, theyre better than the varx-iii's we have and were only 200 bucks a pop. Another good scope that no one even really seems to remember/know about are the redfield widefields. Its an old *** scope but works badass, plus the extended wide view comes in handy on running shots.

Lol, I remember the Redfield Widefields. I started shooting my dad's 308 when I was 4 and that was the exact scope on it. Shoot speaking of old scopes, the gunshop down the road had an old WWII Unertl scope.
