So a friend of mine from high school who is considering buying my truck mentioned he is selling this...
Said he bought it new 3 months ago, has about 500 rounds through it. It has a bushnell reddot with a promag iron sight cocked 45 degrees. Comes with 7 mags and 100 rounds. Also comes with the quad rail, flashlight, and grip on it in the pictures, and also has a small cleaning kit and carry bag. Also said it shoots 5.56 and .223.
I wanted to picked up an assault rifle at some point, but was thinking more along the lines of an AK or SKS, but have nothing against an AR. Hes asking $1000 for all of it. Im not an expert on gun stuff so thats where you guys come in...whats it worth and is it any good? Would be used against zombies and range shooting. I have other guns for close range home defense.

yea thats way too much for that gun.. if he was saying 600 then yea good deal..
cause 7 mags and 100 rds ammo isnt much.
the diff between 5.56 and 223 is just the leade.. or throat in the barrel. it has a longer "Free Bore" to shoot the higher pressure 5.56 round.
223 is somewhere around 50k psi pressure.. 5.56 is up around 56k psi.. thats why all your 5.56 ammo has a crimped primer.

You can fire .223 through a 5.56 rifle but you can't shoot 5.56 in a .223 rifle. My understanding as to why has something do to with different chamber pressures as nonnie said. Can that canted sight be changed over to the left side? Seems retarded to me because it seems more likely you'd get a stovepipe because the casing can't eject properly

thats the DPMS slick sided upper.. i have a a few of them..
They are ok. if you have a stove pipe from rotating the gun 45*, you have a problem already.
and you can shoot a 5.56 out of a 223.. but you might start blowing primers, been there and done that.. but once you start wearing the 223 barrel out. 5.56 shoots fine out of it.
Rotating it counter clockwise is much easier and more natural than than rotating it clockwise.
