I just got my 300 black out. Love it. Have many.. 223 do you like the piston better then a gas tube? Never shot one with piston set up. Easy to clean and put back together?

This is really the only one that I have shot so I can't compare. I havent torn it all apart to clean it, just broke it down, cleaned the bolt assembly, firing pin and lubed it up.
I can't decide if I want to build a tactical style .223 or another caliber.

Hadn't had a chance to start on my reloads for it and see what it can group, I'll get to it eventually.
And traded some things for this little guy. Smith and Wesson m&p 15-22 with an eotech and 3x magnifier.

I got 500 rounds with the trade. But I haven't been able to find any in stores. Don't know why .22 is so damn hard to find.

I'd say the only thing to nit pic is that damn gas block. Oh, and typically you don't want the sights passed the receiver, being .22 it probably isn't such a bad thing, but I wouldn't do it on a higher caliber.

I got a CMT billet lower, ARP .223wylde barrel, WMD bolt carrier group, PSA LPK with MOE gear, AP upper and a troy lo-pro all here to start a build.

Yea id do a Lo Pro gas block but it works either way.. "pretty" or Ugly, as long as it shoots and your happy, nothing else matters

If you have a quality hand guard then mounting it past the receiver doesnt matter,, but then again i wouldnt do it on a long range rig. Close-mid range it wouldnt matter.

I tried to find a low pro gas block but they didnt have one at the time. I'll change it out eventually, doesn't really bug me. I just threw the eotech on there and was trying to figure out where I wanted it with the magnifier. Guess it could go back some.

Nice looking AR man.

I've never been a big AR guy myself. I own one simply because I feel it's patriotic and I enjoy firearms, but I'm an AK guy at heart. ARs are overly complicated for me, annoying to clean. I dislike all the "tacticool" stuff too, but clearly yours is purpose built, not for a mall ninja.
