Ive been lookin for a holster for my 1911 for awhile now.
Ive narrowed it down to a safairland 6004 vs 6005.
I like both. But cant decide which i want.

What yall think?

What are you going to do with it? I carry a P220 in a Safariland 0705 every day at work and we use the 6005 on SWAT. Both have held up extremely well to a lot of hard use, but both are tight when new and need some break in.

Just riding around on the 4wheeler , hog hunting. General use. I hate a regular hip holster, i hit my elbow on it all the time. And if my rifle is slung on my shoulder it hits it too.
I had a cheap leg holster and loved it. So i want a good quality one for the 1911.
Just wonderin if anybody suggested a 6005 over the 6004

I posted a link to a compiled list of holster makers from glock talk website on another thread. For riding I used a Blackhawk Serpa. But I carry a Glock and dust/dirt doesn't bother me or my gun, matter of fact, I haven't cleaned it in about 3 months, and that includes days of riding in central Texas dust while we were in our highpoint of our drought.

I haven't used the 6004, but I bet either would be fine for your purposes.

The 6005 is quick detach is all i can find from reading bout them. And 25 cheaper. Im gonna look around a lil more then decide. I dont like the blackhawk retention system. Ive tried my buddys 6004 on with his duty glock and liked it alot better.

It appears the 6005 would work better doin alot of walking since it has a pivot poin instead of just the belt.

I went ahead and ordered the 6005. Ill try to let yall know how i like it. After trackin some wounded hogs in the corn stalks saturday night i surewish i had it. 16"AR with a suppressor isnt exactly a CQ weapon when you in that tight of a spot.

for hunting i love my blackhawk cqc holster. it keeps it locked in when climbing, crawling, and in brush. but yet smooth and easy to draw
