yes, this is true. They out source due to companies jewing them down on prices and buying in bulk. But mine is direct from cannon thru a authorized cannon dealer, not academey, or TSC. I wanted made in the USA, and would not settle for a chinese safe.

Agreed. However, there is one company that has Chinese safes...but built to real solid specs.

I will be purchasing Amsec, Ft. Knox, or maybe Liberty.

If you spend sub $1k it will be Chinese. Not sure what model actually starts being USA.

My VERY first choice was AmSec & ended up with a Cannon safe. As with Fast, mine is through an authorized dealer so I have every confidence in calling them for potential warranty issues.

a sawzall and a new blade,, you can get into pretty much any gun safe.

after katrina one my buddys shops got flooded and his safe was locked shut from all the crud in the mechanism.. he chouldnt get it out of his shop cause it was anchored and it was huge. something like a 100 gun case.
called the company and told them what the problem was.
they told him it didnt matter what he did, they would warranty it.
he cut the top off with a single sawzall blade and got all the customers guns out.
the company sent a call tag for the safe and sent him a new one for no extra charge. i just wish i knew what company it was.

I have one of these....
Liberty Safe - America's #1 Safe Manufacturer of Gun Safes, Fire Safes, Home Safes and More!
It was expensive, but is pretty rock solid
