I'm just extremely pleased with it. I normally know about what to expect when buying a gun but I kinda picked this one up blind. I didn't shoot one before I purchased this one, which is very abnormal for me. I figured it had to be pretty good seeig how they were so hard to find so I jumped anyway. Glad I did.
It was tagged at $499, plus $15 for a box of range ammo, $10 for a lane rental. Tax and all got out of there for less than what any of them were wanting for it at the shows. Im glad I waited and didn't fall into the 'buy it now' trap and spend $800 on it like I know some people did. I just couldnt do that with a clear head lol. MSRP from S&W is $475 I think so considering the rarity, and the over all madness I think I did pretty good on it.
I wore it last night out to eat and around town for a bit and I almost forgot it was there t was so comfortable to carry. Not a lot of edges or protrusions on it. I had it in a small IWB holster I picked up a while back when I was looking for an XDs, fit like socks on a rooster

And before someone else brings it up, this is not the be all, end all for concealed carry handguns but, it fits me well and the price is pretty hard to beat. Of course you can go drop a cool G or more on a Springfield EMP or a Colt Defender, and have a superb weapon also. This one is something I won't mind wearing and it rubbing around in a holster. Any of those high dollar guns I think I'd cry if they got scuffed or scratched

Ok. Well need an update on it. I just got one today in 40. It was shear dumb luck. I went in to Academy and they where getting in the shield and a XDS. This morning and got to choose between them. Hands down the shield felt better. So I got that and 150 rounds. Got it for the list price of 399.00 Also bought a S&W body guard 38spc for 449.00 for the wife with the laser site. Gonna shoot them this weekend. Any luck on being able to buy bulk pistol range ammo anywhere? Super stoked on them.

I'm still loving my Shield. I've passed the 600rd mark with it as of this weekend with the only malfunction being a feed issue with Hornady Critical Duty... I've switched to Hydra-shocks and havent had a single issue since.
Its my EDC gun and goes EVERYWHERE with me. My theory, Get a carry gun you like and youre super comfortable with and you'll carry more often. I have several holsters for it and have concealed it many different ways. Super friggin accurate as well. This thing drives nails at 10yds... with a 3.1" barrel LOL
Trying to talk my wife into letting me get either a nice Springfield 1911 or a HK after the baby is here... only a few weeks left!!

Not sure if they offer the gun without a safety, but what is your opinion on the safety? I've heard the safety is cumbersome and takes two hands to work. I truly enjoy shooting my M&P and like the idea of owning a Shield.

The safety is slim, easy to manipulate and I've practiced with this one to the point that I click it off safe as I'm presenting the weapon. One fluid motion. It's not cumbersome at all and is easily flipped on or off by using your thumb. Not sure who said they had to use two hands on the safety but its nothing like that. I carry with one in the pipe and the weapon on safe all day every day.
