I'm building my upper...toss ideas and info!
I found it hard to get the style upper I wanted, for a price I was ok with, so I am going to build one.
What it will be used for, PAPER, varmints from time to time, possibly hogs (have a 6.8 already), and zombies
This build is for my wife, but I have a feeling I will spend more time with it than she will.
I am looking at the aero precision stripped upper from surplus arms, possibly a 1/8 Black Hole Weaponry barrel (not sure on length just yet). That is as far as I have gotten. The quad rail I found is $75 Rifle Length Free Float Rail System High Quality !! | eBay The guy's ad makes my head hurt!
It will be mated to the LW-15 polymer lower I just purchased. Please feel free to chime in.

inadequate is when they break
haha but if it were me, id go with the Blackhole weaponry barrel.. very very nice!
I have one in 6.8 16" std weight poly 3 groove and it shoots great.
Im waiting on my 5.56 24" bull barrel from Black hole weaponry they are getting slower now that demand has skyrocketed.
Look at Black rain ordnance also, they have some good stuff.
the Magpul MOE handguard is very comfortable and cheap, not to mention you can put your rails anywhere you want them.
not sure what all info your lookin for tho.
Look at the DPMS Slick sided upper, i think they are $70 and a lil more stronger than the standard style with the forward assist.

Lmao black rain is a complete joke.
The snythetic lowers will wear over time and can easily break, but I also build stuff that is far more precise than out of the box stuff. The next AR I build will be done on a seekins precision upper and lower.
Nothing wrong with lower budget builds at all just expect lower budget results. I don't and will not own anything that shoots more than .5 MOA.
