Polymer lower recievers?

This isn't for anything crazy, just a budget build. The polymer lowers are getting the same **** the Glock first got, and yet many people have shown that they perform well, and I have yet to see real proof of one failing. There is a pic floating around of one cracked by the rear where the tube threads into, but it was said he did it purposely. The ears can break of forged lowers while installing the trigger guard, so nothing is perfect.


But please, can we stick to the thread title and not my lower.

Lets clarify some things since the lower is such an issue with everyone. I manufactuer polycarbonate. There are many different polymers out there, some natural, some synthetic. So far I have yet to read what kind of polymer is being used for the manufacturing of the lowers. But, guessing by the tensile strength I am going to guess it is some kind of polycarbonate or similar high strength polymer. Most times, polycarbonate can be stronger than aluminum and some steel. It can also be more wear resistant. Bullet resistant and bomb resistant polycarbonate "glass" that we supply the government with has proved this.

Ha about the lower, its actually not like a glock or XD. The pistols have a metal slide, metal inserts that the plastic house for the slide to ride on.
And the plastic lower your running is all plastic, with metal pins that run thru it.



But on a serious note, dpms slick sided upper $70 on sale some times, black hole weaponry barrel or a RRA M4 barrel, theres a guy here in MS thats sellin M4 barrels 7 twist chrome lined chamber and bore for 120 or 130?
Be something cheap to get started with.

I like the yankee hill machine customizable free floatin hand guards, YHM lopro gas block, and a gas tube.
And then all you need is a Bolt and charging handle.

My point was polymer construction, and you can run a mil-spec LPK in these, I am not because it will do me fine for now as is. I keep reiterating that I have a built 6.8 for the "tough" stuff.

I do not like the looks of M4 barrels, that step notch (lacking technical term) looks dumb imo not being used.

I will use a BHW most likely, I like what I have read and heard so far.

I like my YHM Diamond so far, light enough, and quality.

I still need to get a few tools, bench vise, and the blocks. Doing this **** without proper tools creates a headache, and for a first timer, there is already enough!

I really need the roll pin holders, make that **** so much easier. Need to build a small wooden table for the vice, the blocks, and roll pin holders.

I put the first 5 together with nothing but a vice and some punches wih a small hammer. Still dont have that lil pin holder thing. Pretty much got use to assembling with out it.
