Default intro to 600 yards

So going to a little intro to 600 shoot this Saturday if all goes well. Will be shooting my Remington vtr 308 with some 165 or 168 match ammo. Never shot past 100 yards at paper before so not sure what to expect. I know I will be an underdog with a stock gun and cheaper scope but should be a goos learning experience I hope.

You shooting F-Class?
All i use is factory rifles and can keep up with the best of them.

I use cheap military pull down bullets, 175gr Sierra matchkings, lapua brass, varget powder and CCI BR primers. Factory R700 AAC-SD 308 20" barrel. It does 5" groups at 600yds all day long. Even after 25rds in 15 minutes.

Good luck!!
what scope you running?
I use a Millett buck gold 4-16 on that 308.

Its more of a training like class I guess. Just get the chance to shoot that far with some pros giving guidance I guess I really don't know for sure. They said start off at 100 then 300 then shoot 600. As far as scope its a 6-24training ncstar. I was kinda an all around test dummy I guess new gun idea and new scope the place started carding. But with 12 dollar ammo it will shoot an inch at a 100 all day.

Oh fun.
I started the same way. Then i wanted somethin a lil better and put a mcgowen .22-250 barrel on a rem action. It shoots .20-.21" groups at 100 and 2.5" at 600yds.
It starts getting addictive. But theres nothing like taking a factory rifle and seeing what you can do. My factory 300wm does 1.5" at 600. Its just hard to feed.

You shoot Factory or Open F-Class with these factory rifles? I like going to the matches and seeing guys shoot open with Factory stuff and blowing the doors off some 5 or 6 thousand dollar guns.

I have to shoot open class with the 300wm and 22-250. But shoot FPR with the 308. Its a funner class than FTR. Only thing thats allowed is a folding bipod. Nothing custom. And a 12# weight class and no rear rest. All you can use is your fist, with or without a glove. Buttstock cant touch the ground either.
Its a blast!!
I placed 3rd in our match Saturday.

Would it not make more since to get a stock worth anything before anything gets better? As far as trigger the factory one is staying for now just lightened up a bit
