how does it sharpen up scott? are you liking the build material? very nice looking knife, blade has good curves for nice easy cuts.

off topic, but every time I see your sig scott (I know you didnt type it) I cringe. I hate when "there" is used incorrectly. it should read "their corn".

Haven't had to sharpen it yet. It's one of many in my EDC rotation, and it's 154CM steel which holds a decent edge. This thing is a TANK. If I need a SHTF knife and it had to be a folder, this would be it without a doubt. It's even better that I only paid $100 for it brand new.

so is it a softer steel like a kershaw, or a more harder to sharpen steel like a spyderco? and how much does it normally go for? i might have to pick one up, im really likin the looks of it.

Well Zero Tolerance is made by Kershaw (KAI), and Kershaw uses many different types of steel.

Cheaper Kershaw knives use 13c26 or 14c28 steel, which is actually a very nice steel that sharpens easily. They also use 154CM, S30V, S60V, D2, and ZDP189.

As far as where 154CM is in the spectrum, it is comparable to S30V and VG10 I'd imagine. Probably a tad easier to sharpen, and might not hold an edge as long as S30V, but still a great steel. Benchmade makes use of 154CM as well.

I'm horrible at sharpening, so I might pick up a spyderco sharpmaker at some point to try.
