I carry a M-4 Carbine every day for work so I wanted something different.

How much did you give for the .308 if you don't mind?

I have a 270savage and love it. Very accurate, have not had any problems with it and being hunting with it for 10 years.

the 308 with scope was 325 and the bipod was 45. the cheapest rifle with the accutrigger is about 500.

Nothing wrong with a Savage, my brother built their base models (Stevens 200) into a 1000 yard tack driver. The only thing left Savage is the action though, barely.

I got a old M-48 Yugo mauser with just a cheap bushnell and third world mount and that thing is awsome, nothing like the feel of a slick bolt action knocking steel down at 500+yds.

4-16x50 IR Sniper Scope by Barska Green Ir mil-dot - Sniper Scopes by BARSKA
NEGATIVE! Do not put a barska on that rifle. Those are cheap scopes for a reason. Save up and at least put a Millet or Nikon on there. I can tell you for a fact that Barska's are crappy scopes. I have a buddy that used one on a 270win and only sent 100-150 rounds down range before it fell apart. When it comes to optics, the best advice I can give is to buy a decent scope and cry once.

I agree!!
Mueller is good budget scope also.

Ive got several millett scopes that have held up great to abuse.
Shot several sub-moa groups out to 1000yds.

Can find millett TRS 4-16x50 for 275ish. I have 3. Skip barska please.

Also have a bushnell banner 4-12 on an AR that has put up with some stupid abuse and still blastin deer out to 450yds. Abuse as in i had a primer blow out and stick under the bolt and lock the action up. So i collasped the stock, removed the mag, held the rifle above my head and beat the mess out of it on the ground with no luck. So i tried hitting the forward assist on the rack of my 4wheeler for a few minutes.
Ended up having to go to my truck and get a punch and hammer to beat the bolt forward.
Went back out and dropped a deer from 325yds. I was happy.

Is the AXIS the rifle that has the recoil lug in the stock?
