I vote savage everytime.
Ive got a savage 116 barrel on my 110 action. Love it.
You can swap barrels on a savage in just a minute.
You could go with a 300WM and then get another barrel w bolthead for .223.
Or 308, or 338 edge, or 7mag, or whatever you want.

Only if you plan to use it for ranging targets. If not then don't waste your money. I have a leica 1600 for ranging so I only use SFP scopes.

Never gotten into the long range shooting thing, though I've always wanted to. Currently looking for a decent longer-ish range varmint rifle. I'm trying to decide between a .17 HMR, .22-250, and .223 for a tactical varmint rifle. I've found a Savage .17 HMR that I absolutely love, but I'm worried that I will want a more powerful round. Mostly if anything would be coyote or the occasional hog gun and then just plinking and target.

Love my 300 winmag, shes a little brutual without a break but thats coming in due time, also desperately needs a new stock, the factory rem stock is starting to develope some play and I think this is hurting my groups.
What are you guys using for glass? I got a Leupold MK4 6.5-20X50mm on my rem700 223 and a Sightron SIII6-24X50 LRMOA on my 300 wm
