Ruger p94 for marlin 30-30

Ok here's the deal I have a ruger p94 40 cal stainless finish and a guys I know has a nice marlin 336 30-30 he wants to trade me I looked up the serial number and it is from the mid 70's any inputs on wether its a good trade??
