So has anyone else heard of this. My employer is still refusing to let us have them in our vehicles and says anyone caught with a firearm or amunition will be terminated.... so much for legal rights

Get that in writing (save e-mails or memos that say that) and/or record your boss saying it w/ your smartphone or a pocket or phone recorder (recording is legal in Texas as long as you are a party to the conversation). You MUST do this first.

What you do next sort of depends on you and how easily you can get another job. Personally, I'd challenge them on it and let them fire me. Try to ge them to admit it was the gun (record it). I'd go get another job. Then I'd wait until right before the statute of limitations was up and sue them for two years (or four, or whatever) worth of back pay. Cha-ching!

 

I would but.... they got waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy more money, probably the best Lawyers you can think of, and the Coast Gaurd backing them..................lol
