I can already tell Im not going to like the site though. The peep hole is way too big to be useful in long distance shots but itll do for now. When primary arms gets their green dot sites back in stock Ill throw one of them on with a 3x magnifer and see how that goes. Just missed a nice illuminated reticle trijicon acog that was used for 600 bucks here locally

What i do with all my AR's is run them as dry as possible for the first few hundred rounds so the action can wear the finish on the inside.
Lube it up and go have a blast. makes it much more reliable and smoother.

What made you decide to go 300 Blackout?

Current AR is a regular ole 5.56. I want a 300blk for its great suppressed performance. My dad has a feeder 94yds off his back porch, he's out of the city limits but against his HOA rules. So a very quiet heavy round makes good sense, don't want bambi running around after I shoot him. Being able to sit on his back porch with a cup of coffee and fill my tags sounds nice. I'm lazy these days.

I just bought the brass because I got 1000 pieces cleaned ready to load for 100 bucks. Too good to pass up for a gun I'll eventually have.

Well, went and shot it today. Put about a hundred rounds through it with no problems but I HATE the iron sights. The damn front sight is so big at 100 yards ts hard to get it to group real well. Need to decide what type of sight to go with. Probably throw a cheapo scope on it for now.

Try texashuntingforum or texasgunforum for a cheap scope, you can find a nice, used Nikon, Leupold etc for $100 or so. not sure how cheap you want to go...

Id love to get an eotech like you got but I havent shot through one yet to spend 300 on one. If Im going to go that route Ill probably get an ACOG. Just dont have the dough for one right now.

Ill check out those forums, Im only on texasguntalk.

I don't even know why I bought it to be honest, mainly because of the deal, I don't have an upper. I bought my wife that Vortex for her build. I haven't shot with it yet. But I would think a rifle scope would be more of what you would need for the hogs and what not...to to say a holopraghic wouldn't work, but why spend that much like you said for the truck gun.

I bought all the new parts from the latter forum. Slow forum, but I caught good deals. Both are great, I can't tell you how much I have bought and sold on THF.
