Yes they are fun, I used to have a few of them.. Your set up is like mini tator chunkin.
Buddie of mine pulled a horrible fail, was using oxy acetylene with a drive shaft, it blew the *** up on him, he lost 60% vision in is left eye, had to get a good bit of stitches.. Not pretty..

Mine is basically as described. 18" long 4" chamber, 40" of 2" barrel. Screws in the base of the barrel to prevent pushing it down too far. Mine ignites with a handheld hotshot, similar to a weak tazer. We use ether though...
