Yeah I let him know exactly what he had and how to treat it. In his defense, the kid knew nothing. Any statement beyond "it goes bang" went right over his head.

You work at Eastern Outfitters? I stop in there quite a bit on my way to Morehead City.

7 seems a bit extreme. Why not 1 or 2? Unless ea. is set up for different things, but still. Geez.

That was a stand up thing ya did. Ya coulda got it for a steal, & then either kept it. Or, I'm guessing it be worth a tidy sum, altho IDK how much if ya sold it. Way to go.

If your screenname is any indication of your character, cause your actions speak for itself. A few good guys are still out there, hat's off to you.

Well thank you very much sir. Yeah, I'm not in the business of theft. I like to make the easy dollar just like everyone else, but just not at the expense of others. I'll die before I do that. Though I believe there's a saying in the Corps, "There's only one Thief in the Marines, everyone else is just trying to get their **** back". To the OP and everyone else, sorry for the thread jacking.

I have a Smith 500 Performance Center that my dad reloads for, I forgot how many grams of Bullseye powder he puts for his "home grown" loads, but its impressive, the fireball out the barrel is like 3' by 3'. Another impressive gun is my FN 5.7mm, little rocket ships out the barrel with the recoil of a .22

My reply depends on which scope we are talking about...

Civilian wise, I have shot a .308 and a dbl barrel 12ga with 3 1/2 inch 00 buckshot.
I have to say, the 12ga kicks harder then anything....

Military wise, You name it.
m2 browning full automatic .50bmg
m107 - .50bmg rifle
m240 - full automatic 7.62 or... .308 in normal terms
m249 - full automatic 5.56 or... .223 in normal terms.
m203 - 40mm 'nade launcher with HE rounds.

But, despite all of the full automatic large caliber rifles.... I enjoy the kick of the 12ga and the .308. None of the military rifles/ machine guns really have a "kick" to them...

What i want to shoot one day...... A .700 nitro express rifle!

Til now I never really knew or necessarily thought about the equivalent like how u wrote it...
7.62 = .308
5.56 = .223

Makes me think the 5.56 is tame compared to the 7.62, tho I've never shot either.

I've read about that .700 Nitro Express. IIRC, a wealthy chap spent $20k on a Nitro X pistol.
