I'll have to disagree with you.

I purchased a .40 because I didn't want a 9mm, and didn't want the ammo costs of a .45. I'm happy with the purchase, it'd put some nice holes in an intruder either way, and being proficient with the firearm is the most important factor anyways.

its so weird, here .45 is cheaper than .40. when you can actually find .40 that is. have you ever heard of glaser safties?

That is weird, I can find .40 at every walmart around, tons of boxes of it at cabelas, bass pro shop, academy, etc. It's easily as common as 9mm. And glaser safties rings a bell. Is it a round that expands a whole lot and doesn't over penetrate?

Wow, so much wrong in that statement.

First of all I can find 40 ammo everywhere, no problem. It has more power than a 9 but generally comes in a much easier to conceal frame than a 45 and it carrys more rounds to boot. The recoil of a regular tactical 45 vs a 40 sub compact is about the same due to the shortness and less weight of the gun so thats a mute point. Even gun for gun the 45 doesnt kick that much more than a 40. If my wife can shoot a 45 any regular man should be able to too.

it is one of the nastiest self defense rounds i have ever seen. it has a jacket the expands, then fragments, but its also filled with smaller shot on the inside. and im not kidding, there is never any .40 cal ammo for sale here.

Not sure why youre having so much trouble finding 40 ammo. I went to two wal marts and picked up 8 boxes total of blazer brass back in December when I was down for Christmas with the family. Now good quality ammo I go to T's in Texas City when Im down or up here in Austin I just buy it online.
