Not sure why youre having so much trouble finding 40 ammo. I went to two wal marts and picked up 8 boxes total of blazer brass back in December when I was down for Christmas with the family. Now good quality ammo I go to T's in Texas City when Im down or up here in Austin I just buy it online.

I can agree with this. My XD40SC has a pretty nasty snap to it when shooting Federal 180gr. I've shot a couple different 1911s before, and the .40 out of my subcompact compared nicely to the feel of a .45, but I'd imagine the .45+P has a bit more of a snap to it. It's definitely much louder and kicks more, from what I have seen/heard at the range.

who knows why. i havent seen any in MONTHS anywhere. when i ask, they say they havent gotten any shipments in in awhile. i live in pearland. ive also noticed 5.7 is getting extremely hard to find. stuff used to be as abundant as hell, now its pretty scarce. i was gunna purchase a real P90 now that i have some fun paper work, but never mind, guess ill just build my 10.5inch upper or a full auto 12 in gas piston rifle
5.7 isn't too hard to find up here in DFW either. I'd offer to ship some of it to you, but you could probably find it cheaper online and save on shipping anyways.

Yall dont reload? Come on..
I use to buy cci blaser brass back when it was 6 bucks a box. When it jumped to 12 bucks i quite and went back to reloading.
Ive taught a couple females how to shoot and they quickly went from a 22 to a 40 in no time. If your worried bout recoil then you need to learn how to shoot.
I got the 40 cause i didnt want a 9. 38k rounds later, i still rather have the 40.

the 5.7 stuff is gonna be going away because of the Wacko who decided to shoot up the Army base... which is ok, because I just picked up about 2000rds my FN 5.7 is probably my favorite firearm. period, but wasnt cheap at all... about $1200 worth. I have a .40 and a .45 and the .45 doesnt get picked up unless I just want to go to the range and put bigger holes in paper. My .40 goes everywhere with me. I've got a Taurus PT 24/7 .45 and its actually a nice piece (for a Taurus) but is very picky about ammo. I had a Kel-Tec 9mm and hated it.... never felt right and never got comfortable with it... for a super-sub compact, I'd rather the LCP or LCR
-My next purchase will be a XD-40 3" in OD green/Stainless
