I'd skip the grip tape, I don't like it. It was on there when I got it and will be coming off once I've got time and am thinking about it. I'm not buying anything else til I get me an AR that nonnie sent me a link to. I'll be buying it and a lower next month probably then start saving for my garage mods so I get a reloading station set up. I'm afraid firearms and ammo is going to be hard to come by like last election so getting the stuff in hand is more important right now. Mods can come later.

i've been stocking up on ammo for sure lately while the prices are reasonable cause you never know when they're gonna start climbing and shelves start going empty..

danny , your right about that . when i get into hobbies i usually go big once im sure ill have interest in it for the long haul. I know i wont buy a big dog barrett for now as its way too expensive to shoot let alone the gun and getting my money out of it just cant happen as the closest place for me to go will be 2-3 hours which is a bit too far ( now that can be said for drag racing as our only local drag strips just got closed down for what looks like a long time). The Desert Eagle on the other hand i got for the pure fact that
And the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point five O"
from "******" the movie lol. its imo a mean looking gun and everyone knows it when they see it . i could care less if it weighs a ton and isnt consistant. i just have always wanted one.

anywho , i still like the savage and may consider it in a .300 or .308 , what has to be swapped to change calibers? either way i need to get into it sooner or later.

yesterday i bought a .50ae clip , 40 rd of .300gr .50ae and 20 .350gr factory ammo and 40 rds hornady 44mag . just that was over $250 wow
here is the ar-15 with and without the larue/harris bipod i use for the longer shots(still only a 16" barrel)
specs ,

Spikes custom billet upper/lower
Spikes Piston upper with daniel defense rail
16" 1/8 twist competition Stainless Steel Melonite Coated Barrel
magpul ctr stock
magpul grip
magpul angled forward grip
(had magpul flip up sites but removed after scope was installed, for sale if anyone wants them in black)
trijicon acog ta-31f 4x32 red chevron reticle , and a 4 moa trijicon rmr red dot on top

and some others of the new home for it

and some comparison , .223 , .40 s&w, 44mag, .50ae

To swap from a 308 to a 300win, rum, wby etc... you will obviously need to change barrels as well as changing the bolt face. Different sizes. Personnaly I would start with the 300 and swap down unless you enjoy having to remove your bolt in order to chamber a round.

Ugh. To name a few on the list.

AR-15
*Send my god awful, stock duty, 2 stage, POS, 90lb, creepy trigger group to Mr. Bill Springfield for some love.
*Mount my new (sent the other one back to Midway because windage adjustment was not adjusting) Burris Fast Fire atop my PEPR mount and sight in.
* Acquire parts and build uppers in 6.8 SPC and .450 Bushmaster.
*Clean it... HATE...WANT TO SHOOT!!!

.300 WSM (Long Range Wannabe Rifle)
*Figure out why the close to $2000 I have dumped into it still produces 3 shot groups (at 100 yds) that have 2 stacked shots and 1 flyer 1"+ away despite the 7 different (brands, projectiles, weights, etc) ammos I have shot out of it!!!! WTF?!!!!

Remington 700 Varmint (26" barrel 1:10 twist), 300 WSM, Glass bedded HS Precision Stock, Jewell Trigger set at 1lb, Muzzle Brake, Badger Ordinance Bolt **** (for only kewlest of the tactikewl!!!) , Cerakote, Zeiss Conquest 6.5x20x50 w/ target turrets, Leupold rings and bases, etc.

My AR-15 with military surplus ammo and my .270 i have literally $350 into with Remington Corelokt ammo group better than the 300.

Below: .270win Corelokt @ 100 yds.

I think my To-Do list is pretty short this year. I've got about 400 lapua brass that are waiting to be loaded and I've got to find myself a better bi-pod suited to F-class. I'll probably pick up a CG Jackson trigger this year as well then I can finally leave this gun alone and just shoot it.

Edit: and damn you guys with your conceal carry lol
