I wasn't aware of early 6.0 cranks mainly LQ4's having a thicker flange "long-crank". Made it difficult to find an aftermarket flex plate that would work. After talking with Brian at Circle D, he recommended JW out of Florida. Talked to them good ole boys out there and the correct flex plate is on it's way.

Tore down the np149 and sent the input shaft to TIme2Kill Tim for the 80e re-spline treatment. Ordering new bearings, seals, case saver, chain and filter for the assembly.

I didn't know of a long-crank and short crank of the 6.0's. My new block came with a 99-00 long crank typically out of LQ4's. Which is fine if you plan to run a stock flex plate but wanted to run a little stronger plate. After talking to Brian at Circle D, my options were to have the torque converter machined to fit or go with a JW flex plate from Florida so that's on it's way as well.

Tore down the np149 and sent out the input shaft to Time2Kill Tim for the 80e re-spline treatment. The bearings, gears and chain didn't show much wear for 135k miles but ordering new seals, bearings, case saver, chain and filter for the assembly.

Apparently my new block had a 99-00 long crank which made searching for an upgraddd flexplate a pain in the ass. Found that JW out of Florida makes a flat flexplate for them and it's on it's way. I wasn't feeling to good about running a dished TCI with the extended pilot bushing.

How are you all deleting the connectors in the harness that you don't use? Cut the connector off and cover each wire? Also with HP tuners, are you able to disable them so there is no power going to them? I'm removing knock, purge solenoid, coolant level and the not in-use one in the passenger side fire wall. I don't have HP tuners yet. Thanks in advance.

Pull the front and rear drive shafts, 65e and np149 t-case. Need to shorten the rear shaft and extend the front shaft or just replace it with a 2500 hd front shaft. The T-case is going to be separated, inspected, soft parts replaced and input shaft sent out to get machined to accept the 80e output shaft.

Boltdepot.com has great prices on hardware. Stainless allen head bolts are soo much cheaper than fancy ARP dress ups.
